Pea Puffer (Carinotetraodon travancoricus)
A standout addition to freshwater aquariums, the Pea Puffer — also known as the Dwarf Pufferfish, Malabar Puffer, or Pygmy Puffer — is one of the smallest and most charismatic puffer species available. With its compact size (growing up to about 1–3 cm) and striking golden‑green body adorned with expressive eyes and dark markings, this tiny fish brings big personality to planted nano tanks and species‑specific setups.
Despite its small stature, the Pea Puffer is bold, curious and highly interactive, often exploring every corner of its environment and engaging with its keeper. A true freshwater puffer, it thrives in well‑maintained aquaria with stable water quality and plenty of vegetation for cover.
